NGOC ROSE
Hanoi Lead | Ikebana Instructor
Ngoc Rose’s practice explores the relationship between natural materials, space and form. Working with expressive branches, organic textures and asymmetry, she looks for compositions that preserve the individual character of each material.
Background & Practice
Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc, known as Ngoc Rose, began her ikebana journey around 2023. She came to the practice through floral design and wedding decoration, bringing experience from commercial projects and events.
Through her Sogetsu studies, her attention has turned increasingly toward line, movement and negative space. She balances intention with spontaneity, allowing the shape and texture of a material to inform what happens next. Her work considers how forms interact and how the spaces between them contribute to the whole.
Approach to Teaching
At When Still, Ngoc Rose sees learning and sharing as an ongoing practice. She encourages students to observe materials closely, appreciate their differences and discover the quiet possibilities of simplicity, imperfection and space.
